Programme Strategy

The main building blocks for a successful awareness raising campaign strategy on the risks of trafficking in women and children include alliance building, a strategy of coordination among different organisations, awareness raising activities and materials, the involvement of celebrities and high-profile supporters, media mobilisation and local resource mobilisation. The main aims of this strategy is to change social norms or values related to trafficking in women and children and exploitation in affected communities, mobilise the considerable existing resources of civil society for the cause, and create a social and political context in which key actors are encouraged to take action.

In addition, the Project Advisory Committee will develop, discuss and adopt policy briefs for local authorities in the areas of human trafficking. In this way, countries where SANTAC and WLSA are already operational will become targets for the campaign.
