Red Light 2010 Campaign in South Africa aims to prevent the trafficking, abuse and exploitation of children and women is based on the key recommendation of the assessment and seeks to:
• Create awareness within government and civil society of the impact of 2010 FWC on children and women and lobby for action to protect them;
• Establish a national working group to develop a 2010 FWC Child Protection framework at national, provincial and host city level;
• Advocate and ensure that child protection is given priority during 2010 FWC and included in the 2010 FWC Operations and Security Plans;
• Conduct a public awareness and education to promote the protection of children and women during 2010 FWC and beyond.
